Hluhluwe / lmfolozi is Malaria Free.

World famous, the HluhIuwe and Imfolozi game reserves were founded in 1895 and are the oldest such sanctuaries in Africa.Rare Black Rhino In 1989 the two parks were joined together to become the Hluhluwe/Irnfolozi park as it is today. It used to be the hunting grounds of the Zulu Kings and is also renowned for bringing the black and white rhino back from extinction.

The Big Five - Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffalo and Black Rhino - are the most dangerous animals to hunt, which is why the Black Rhino is part of the Big Five and not the White Rhino. The Black Rhino is far more aggressive than the White. The Hluhluwe/Imfolozi Park has the highest population of Black Rhino anywhere in the world. With more than 500 recorded bird species, this area is a birder's paradise. All our guides are fully qualified and are assessed by Bird Life SA. Among the "specials" occurring here are the Rufousbellied Heron, Livingstone's Lourie, the Mangrove Kingfisher, Rudd's Apalis and the Southern Banded Snake Eagle, to name just a few. More..........

Beauty & The Beast Leatherback TurtleTurtle Tours
The season runs from 1st November to 1st March. Turtle Tours take place at Cape Vidal and on the way there, you might be lucky enough to see rhino, leopard, buffalo and hippo.  Two kinds of sea turtles lay their eggs on our beaches, namely the huge Leatherback and the smaller Loggerhead turtle. Either a full or half day, this tour takes you through the picturesque iSimangaliso Wetland Park (a World Heritage Site) with its 5 separate eco systems.  The half day tour includes snorkelling at Cape Vidal (sea conditions permitting) plus tea, coffee and home made rusks.  The full day tour includes a traditional South African braai (barbeque) for lunch.
